Practical AI skills, taught live, built for real work

This is a hands-on practitioner programme for a mixed, non-technical cohort. No coding, no jargon for its own sake. Over eighteen weeks, one day a week, learners move from understanding what generative AI is to putting it to work safely, and making a costed case for it in their own organisation.

Who it is for

Professionals and teams who want to use AI well at work, with no technical background needed. Individuals can join an open cohort, or an employer can run the whole programme in-house for up to twelve people.

How it runs

Live and instructor-led, online, one five-hour day a week plus a couple of hours of directed study. Small enough to stay hands-on, with a workbook, activities and feedback throughout.

Curriculum

Six blocks across eighteen weeks

Each block builds on the last, with three checkpoint assessments along the way and a capstone project at the end.

Block A
Weeks 1 to 4

Foundations

The AI landscape, the generative AI toolscape, how the models work, and the 2026 foundation-model picture.

Block B
Weeks 5 to 8

Prompting Craft

The anatomy of a prompt, core and advanced techniques, multimodal prompting, and building your prompt library.

Block C

Microsoft Copilot & M365

Copilot across Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams, and how to extend and govern it safely.

Block D
Weeks 11 to 13

Hallucination and grounding, bias, privacy, copyright and the law, and responsible AI in practice.

Block E
Weeks 14 to 15

Agents & Automation

From chat to agents, and building your own personal AI operating system for real tasks.

Block F
Weeks 16 to 18

Business Value & Career

Questions

Good to know

Do I need any technical background?

No. The programme is built for a non-technical audience and starts from no prior knowledge. If you use everyday office software, you have enough to begin.

How much time does it take each week?

One live day of about five hours, plus roughly two to three hours of directed study. It runs for eighteen weeks in total.

Is it really live, or recorded?

It is live and instructor-led online, so you can ask questions and work through activities together. Sessions can be recorded on the Complete and Premium tiers so you can catch up.

What do I come away with?

A Certificate of Completion and a programme record, a finished capstone project, and a set of practical skills you can use straight away at work.

Can my employer run this for a whole team?

Yes. The in-house option delivers the full programme for one employer, tailored where useful, for up to twelve learners with more added at a per-learner rate.

Is funding available?

The programme fits the government Skills Bootcamp model, which is co-funded for eligible employers. Ask about funded cohorts when you enquire.
